New Federal University Commences Academic Activities
The Federal University, Ndufu Ikwo, Ebonyi, has commenced academic activities with a student population of 257 according to theVice Chancellor, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe.
Ibidapo-Obe said in Abakaliki on Tuesday that the university employed the best brains in the country to rank among the best.
He said the motto of the university, Excellence and Integrity, was chosen to make it a centre of learning and research as the hub of international transformation.
“The philosophy is to produce graduates with the spirit of excellence, integrity and problem solvers. As a matter of fact, the objective of this university is to provide access and university education for qualified students,” he said.
The Registrar of the university, Mr Gabriel Chukwu, also told newsmen that it was deeply committed to research and innovations.
“I am assuring the pioneering students of a conducive learning environment, the best staff, facilities and cooperation provided they are ready to study. This university will not harbour drug peddlers, indecent dressing, all forms of examination malpractice, cultism and other social vices,” he said.
The university has three faculties and 10 departments.
