The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has reiterated its commitment to unveil the Aircraft Flight Information System which will provide all the necessary data on the aircraft in the airspace and also feed information of whatever is happening to the aircraft to installed system outside the aeroplane.

The Director-general of NCAA, Dr. Harold Demuren stated this during the inaugural flight of Med-View Airlines at the Murtala Mohammed international Airport, Lagos.

According to him, each commercial aircraft in Nigeria must have the system installed and airlines have already started installing the equipment.

“It will be installed on each aeroplane that is flying and we are going to have data control for all the airlines and also with NCAA. What is good is that we are improving ur airlines to meet their obligations; we are improving them so that they have a very good dispatch. Even when they are flying and there is a problem they will know what the problem is”, he said.

“A lot of you were concerned during the last plane crash and needed answers to these questions: was the plane bad before the crash; was there any snag on the plane. Now, it is going to be fully automated with sophisticated equipment on board. And what it is going to do is that it is going to be fling data recorders (FDR) every hour automatically while the aircraft is flying”, he added.

Meanwhile Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) has congratulated the management of Med-View Airline on the successful launch of its domestic flights.

BASL said that med-view had joined other airlines that had been enjoying its ultra modern facilities in the last five years and assured the management of med-view of its support in ensuring a hitch-free operation from MMA 2.

A statement issued by BASL spokesman, Steve Omolale-Ajulo quoted the Chief executive Officer of the organistion, Mr. Christopher pennick as saying that “the company feels elated that med-view decided to operate from MMA 2 which further confirmed the conducive nature of the terminal to airline operations.
