A leading insurance underwriter in Nigeria, International Energy Insurance  (IEI)Plc, has intensified its commitment to the development and confidence building of the aviation industry in Nigeria.

This was demonstrated recently at Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal 2, when Med View Airline launched its local commercial flight services. IEI led a syndicate of insurers to provide insurance cover for the two aircraft recently acquired by Med View Airlines.

The Managing Director of Med View Airlines, Muneer Bankole, commended IEI for the huge interest in the development of the aviation industry, particularly Med View Airlines.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of IEI Plc, Roseline Ekeng, noted that the move is to inspire confidence in consumers and also to provide credibility for the local Airline business.

She stressed that credibility, dependability and innovation are IEI’s core business values, and that the partnership with Med View Airlines Limited is a demonstration of our interest in helping to develop the aviation industry.

IEI from the beginning has demonstrated capacity with a huge capital base and growth efficiency plans.

In 2007, the company successfully raised a capital in the neighbourhood of N7 billion from private placement.

IEI became Plc, with an authorised share capital of N8.5billion, with N3.2 billion paid up, and shareholders’ fund of N9.02 billion as at 2010 financial year end.
