Court Remands Man Over Alleged Robbery
A Port-Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court last Thursday ordered that Joseph Ode, 22, be remanded in prison custody for alleged robbery offence. The accused is standing trial on two count charge of robbery and theft.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Adam Idafi told the court that on September 1, 2012 at Nonwa Kebara community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State within the jurisdiction of Port-Harcourt magisterial district the accused and others did conspire among themselves and robbed one Peace Sugu of Nonwa Kebara of Six Hundred and Seventy thousand Naira while armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.
The prosecutor averred that the accused persons committed an offence punishable under section 6(b) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Fire Arms Special Provision Act Cap R11 Laws of Federation 2004.
The accused did not take any plea on the two count charge brought against him.
The presiding chief magistrate, Emmanuel C. Woke while remanding the accused person in prison custody adjourned the case to 19th of November, 2012 for mention.
