Councillor Pledges Empowerment For Ward Members

A member of the
Port Harcourt City Legislative Council, Mr. Lucky Stanley Wobo has pledged to
continue to empower people of his ward and community on education and other
endearours.

Wobo, who made the pledge at the
official presentation of his empowerment scheme tagged 30-30-30, noted that his
aim was to help compliment the efforts of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike
Amaechi at the grassroot.

The Councillor, representing Ward 11 in
the Port Harcourt City legislative assembly, said in the empowerment scheme, 30
women benefited through soft loan, 30 persons for skills acquisitions, and 30
students were sponsored for the National Examination Council Examiantion
(NECO).

He noted that 60 out of the 90
beneficiaries were drawn from all families from Rumunwoji, while 30
beneficiaries were non indigenes of the area.

He said the empowerment scheme were part
of his promises at the campaign as he urged the people to continue to support
the present administration to enable take the state to a greater height.

This is my own way of complimenting the
efforts of his Excellency Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Governor of Rivers
State and Hon. Chimbiko Iche Akarolo, the Chairman of Port Harcourt City in
engaging our youths in capacity building as to keep them of the streets”, he
said.
