Celebrant Shoots Guest At Naming Ceremony

A celebrant, one Innocent Ugwuanyi, in a naming ceremony at Uda Enugu Ezike in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, has been arrested by the operatives of the Enugu State police command for allegedly shooting a guest with his double barrel gun.

Our correspondent gathered that on the fateful day, the celebrant, now the suspect, organised a naming ceremony where a lot of people invited to the ceremony attended including the victim, one Sylvester Eke.

The victim, it was further gathered, was on the way to get to where he parked his motorcycle in order to leave the arena when suddenly he was allegedly fired on his left leg with a double barrel gun by the celebrant, which made the victim to sustain injury on his left leg.

When contacted, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ebere Amaraizu (ASP), confirmed the incident, pointing out that investigations into the incident have commenced in full scale.

Amaraizu, also made it clear that the victim was receiving treatment at St. Hellen’s Hospital located at Umuida Road, Ogurute Enugu Ezike.
