Bible Society Confab Begins Tuesday

The
2012 Life Members Conference of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Rivers/Bayelsa
Area will begin in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, November 27.

According to
a statement signed by the Chairman of the planning committee, reverend P.B.
Jenewari Secretary of the area, Mr. Willson Etekpe and the Publicity Secretary
of the area, Omoni Ayo Tamuno, the conference which has as its theme
“Accountability (2Corinthians 5:10) will be chaired by the Permanent Secretary
of the State Ministry of transport, Dr. Someari Isaac-Harryand Akuku-Toru
Asaritoru federal Constituency, Dr. Dawari George.

It stated
that the special guests are the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Marshall
Stanely-Uwon JP, Commissioner for chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Charles Okaye, Rev.
(Arch) Belema Okpokiri and Mr. Onari Brown members of the Rivers State House of
Assembly representing krika Constituency and Akuku-Toru Constituency 1,
respectively.

The statement
said that the mayor of Port Harcourt Local Government, Hon. Chimbiko Iche
Akarolo is the Host of the Conference, while the General Managers of Rivers
State Newspaper Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo and Rivers State Television,
Mr. Tonye Ekong as well as the Director of Works of Eleme Local government, Mrs
Belema Bob-Manuel and the Group Managing Director of Amazing treat, Mrs Akoboba
Amachree are Guests of honour.

The guest
speaker, the statement said is the President of the Rivers Baptist Conference,
Rev. Ogadimma Jim-Odoi, the spiritual father of the day is the Bishop of the
Okrika Diocese, Rt. Rev. T. Abere JP and the Royal father is the Bua yaa yori
Mene Peter Abobari JP and the Mothers of the day are a former Secretary to the
State Government, Dame Ipalibo gogo Benigo and the wife of the Bishop of the
Anglican diocese of Niger Delta, Mr. Victoria Ebirien.

The statement
said that the life members’ conference which would be attended by over 300
members from rivers and Bayelsa States would take place at 10: am and will
feature fund raising for the Bible House and review of the activities o the
area in the past year.
