ADB Votes $300m For East-West Road

The African Development Bank (ADB) has committed $300 million to improve the state of the East-West Road.
The Country Director of the Bank, Ousman Do’re, who said this during the launching of the International Centre for Micro-Finance and Social Enterprises Nigeria Limited, organised by the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) in Port Harcourt also said that the bank had a programme to support the implementation of micro-financing in the country.
The Director who was represented by Mr Bokar Toure said that Nigeria needed to stimulate the Small and Medium Enterprises sector, to enable her realise the Vision 202020 which is expected to launch the country into the top 20 economies in the world.
He also called for more focus on the Agricultural sector, while rural people should be encouraged to have access to financing.
He also stressed the need for operation of SMEs to have closer interaction with their clients with a view to monitoring their activities.
