Dolphins and Sharks FCs players contest during one of the Premier League derbies in Port Harcourt, last season

The chairman of Dolphins FC’s Supporters club Otis Asonye
has called for the overhauling of both Rivers State owned clubs, Sharks and
Dolphins FCs.

According to him,
overhauling the management and technical crew of the clubs would be one
of the surest way to achieve good results in the coming seasons.

Asonye said that there exists gross misconduct and
indiscipline among the players, management and coaches of the clubs, noting
that lack of coordination contributed immensely to the poor performance of the
clubs last season.

Asonye, stated these in an interview with The Tidesports
yesterday in  Port Harcourt.

He stated that internal wrangling between the technical crew
and management was the major cause for Dolphins failure.

“Government is trying its best to develop sports in the
state, especially sponsoring three football clubs.

However, it is time for government to totally overhaul both
the  coaching and  management personnel of all the teams to
achieve good results in the coming football season, Asonye said.

The supporters club boss continued that he discovered that
there was no commitment from the coaches and even the players.

The coaches should leave the club and look for greener
pasture somewhere, let there be change, because change is imperative at the
clubs now”, he said.

Asonye further noted that the clubs need closer and
effective supervision to ensure that they remain on track, unlike what he has
been happing in recent time.

One of the problems is that the supervisors of both clubs
have not been very effective in terms of knowing what is happening in the
clubs, he stated.

He used the forum to appeal to members of the supporters
club not lose hope and expressed optimisma that the club would make the state
proud if the right changes are effected.
