Super Eagles Ambush Liberia In Calabar … AFCON Qualifier

Super Eagles of Nigeria are in desperate mood as they wait
to dim the Lone Stars of Liberia in tomorrow’s 2013 African Cup of Nations
final leg qualifier at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

Information emanating from the Nigerian camp show that both
Coach Stephen Keshi and his wards are in war mood and want to eclipse their
opponents as early as possible in the game.

This mood is understandable. The Eagles were unable to make
the 25th edition of the championship co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon
earlier in the year, and they want to make amends with the ticket to the 2013
edition in South Africa.

Also, the national team knows that Nigerians expect nothing
less than resounding victory over the Liberians and would not entertain
excuses.

Thus, the Super Eagles cannot afford to disappoint, tomorrow.

However, the decisive match is delicately poised after their
first leg in Monrovia ended two goals apiece.

Tomorrow, Nigeria must fashion out a clear victory or hope
that the scoreline is less than 2-2 if it ends in a draw.

But with the determination evident in commitment shown by
the players in training and the good form shown by the foreign based strikers
invited for the match, especially, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike, Ikechukwu Kalu
and Victor Moses, Nigeria should have enough fire power and quality to overcome
Liberia.

Keshi must however, find an effective replacement for
injured Captain Joseph Yobo and ensure that the defence stays focused for the
entire match.  The Lone Star would not
fall easily. They stormed Nigeria in a chartered flight yesterday with about
100-man contingent.

In addition to the financial reward promised the Lone Star
players by their president for a victory over Nigeria, the motivation of being
part of the Nations Cup party in South Africa will greatly motivate to try to
upset the Super Eagles.
