Rangers Target Enyimba Skipper …Ahead 2012/2013 NPL Season
Rangers are set to upset the fans of their oriental rivals by signing Enyimba’s captain Josiah Maduabuchi.
Maduabuchi is reported to have agreed personal terms with the management of Rangers after training with the ‘Flying Antelopes’ recently.
Rangers is now the preferred destination of local players. Having finished as runners-up in the NPL last season, the club is assured of continental football next year, and the lure of featuring in the money-spinning tournament as well as exposure that comes with it has proved irresistible.
Other big name players who have been lined with the Enugu State-owned club include: Tony Okpotu from Lobi Stars, Sanusi Sani from Gombe United, Uche Oguchi from Heartland and former Orlando Pirates forward Ezenwa Otorogu.
Maduabuchi led a largely inexperienced Enyimba team to a fourth-placed finish in the NPL last season, thus assuring them of a place in the regional WAFU Cup.
