Prayers Can Solve Nigeria’s Problems – Bishop

The Bishop of St. Paul’s United Spiritual Church of Christ
World Wide, Most Reverend Michael Onuoha has charged Christians to remain
prayerful and redouble their desire for the service to God.

Bishop Onuoha who gave the charge at an Episcopal service of
the Church in Aba, Abia State Sunday said the problems of the country can only
be surmounted if the people dedicate their lives to constant prayers and serve
God in truth.

According to him, “it is more glorifying to devote most of
our times serving God and praying for His intervention in the numerous
disasters and crisis bedeviling the country”, pointing out that satan is using
his agents to encounter the blessings Nigerians would have reaped from the
present administration under President Goodluck Jonathan.

The cleric who decried the performance of signs and wonders
by some gospel ministers posited that Jesus Christ during his evangelism did
not do much miracles, especially in His home town because as he puts it, “His
people did not believe Him”.

He said that rather than preaching signs and wonders,
emphasis should be placed on how people can make heaven, adding that
Christianity is hinged on repentance and doing the will of God.

In an interview with newsmen, the Bishop’s wife fondly
called Mother-general, Ngosi Onuoha enjoined Christians to remain steadfast,
while urging Nigerians to always work towards the unity of the country.

She stressed the need for them to love one another since,
according to her, human beings, irrespective of ethnic or political inclination
are one before God.
