NNL’s Super Four Kicks Off Oct 21
The 2012 Super Four Championship of the Nigeria National
League (NNL) will kick off in Abuja on October 21.
NNL’s Secretary, Mr Ayo Rahman, told newsmen, that the
opening day fixtures would see El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri taking on
Nembe City FC of Bayelsa.
“This match will be followed by the second fixture of the
day involving Nasarawa United FC of Lafia and Bayelsa United FC of Yenagoa,’’
he said.
Rahman said the championship, which involves the champion
clubs of the four groups in the season 2011/2012 NNL competition, would
determine the overall champions of the league.
He said that winners of the championship would be presented
with a trophy and a cash amount as prize money.
“I may, however, not be able to give the exact amount for
now, because the details are still being worked out on this,’’ the NNL official
said.
He also said that prizes and awards would be presented to
various players, clubs and officials as part of efforts to motivate them in the
competition.
Thirty-six clubs in four groups of nine took part in the
league competition, which is the second tier of the Nigerian football league.
