Man, 45 Arraigned For Forgery
A 45 year old man, Oseluka Onugbogu has been arraigned
before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly forging a letter of
land allocation.
The accused and others now at large are arraigned on a five
court charge on conspiracy, forgery, false information and intimidation before
Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Woke.
The prosecutor, Inspector G. Nwinam told the court that the
accused person and others now at large in June 2012 at Plot No. 4 Trans Amadi
G.R.A. Phase II in Port Harcourt magistrate district did make a false letter of
allocation in respect of land property situate at No 4 Trans Amadi GRA Phase 11
claiming the ownership of the title to the said property.
The prosecutor also said that the accused presented a forged
letter of allocation in respect of plot Nos 9, 10, 11 and 12 of 12 Trans Amadi
GRA Phase II and gave false information to the State Criminal Investigation
Department (SCID) of the Nigeria Police
Force, Rivers State Command against one Mr Fred Samuel Owoke has a fake
certificate of occupying in respect of the land in question.
According to the prosecutor, the prosecutor, the police
arrested wrongly and detained Mr Nelson Oseluka Onugbogu petition adding that
Mr Onugbogu was a ware that his information was false.
The police prosecution alleged that the accused committed an
offence punishable under section 516, 467 (2)
(d), 468,86 and 125 A (1) (a) of the Criminal Code Law, laws of Rivers
State 1999. The accused pleaded not
guilty to all the charges brought against him.
The presiding chief magistrate granted the accused N500,000
bail with two sureties and produce three years tax clearance. The sureties must
produce four passports and swear affidavit of means while the police prosecutor
to verify adjourned to 17/10/12 for continuation.
