Commissioner Advises Outgoing Corps Members To Shun Vices
The Imo Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr
Chinedu Offor, has called on the outgoing Batch C corps members in the ministry
to shun societal vices.
Speaking at a send off ceremony of the corps members, the
commissioner urged them to diversify their talents in several endeavors to
maximize their potentials.
He called on them to guard against company which could lead
them to commit crimes.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Public
Enlightenment, Mr Mark Dike, corps members for their discipline during their
service year.
Dike also urged them to remain disciplined in all their
endeavours and to rely on God.
“Imbibe the spirit of self discipline in all your dealings.
Challenges will come but always commit them to God,” he said.
The Corps Liaison Officer, Mr Anani Peters, thanked the
commissioner and the staff of the ministry and promised to continue promoting
national unity.
Meanwhile the Imo
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ugochi Nnanna-Okoro, has admonished
students of Imo State University to shun social vices and be more committed to
their studies.
She gave the advice when the executive members of the
Students’ Union Government of the school paid her a courtesy visit in Owerri.
Nnanna-Okoro, who said that the Igbo were known for hard
work in all fields of endeavor, condemned the kidnap menace that had taken root
in the country.
The commissioner urged the youths to desist from such ugly
and criminal acts as leaders of tomorrow, adding that such acts could destroy
their future.
Earlier, the union’s Director of Socials, Mr Irenanus
Oluigbo, said the visit was to formally invite the commissioner to their
forthcoming “Got Talent Show/Award Night”.
Oluigbo noted that the event would help to fish out
different talents among the students which would help them in their future
endeavor.
He thanked the commissioner for her motherly care and
advice.
“Our prayer for you is that God will bless and grant you
more power in your endeavors; we remain grateful,” he said.
