Boeing, Arik Air Strengthen Partnership

The world’s largest aerospace company, Boeing Company of the
United States recently hosted Arik Air and its financial partners to some
planning courses, designed to provide deeper understanding of aviation business
and manufacturing process.

The executive seminar which was held at the aerospace company’s facility in Seattle, Washington featured presentations on the airplane acquisition process, airplane contract process, the manufacturing process and an airline business overview.

“Arik Air is one of Africa’s largest airline business with
an extremely high potential for continued growth”, said the vice president of
sales for Africa, Latin America and Carribean for Boeing Commercial Airplanes,
Van Rex Gallard.

Meanwhile the Kebbi State Government has approved the sum of
N13.6 billion for the expansion of the state airport.

The Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sani Kangiwa
disclosed this to newsmen at the end of the state executive Council meeting.

He said that the sum of N11.3 billion was for the
construction of the control tower building awarded to Chinese Government
Company (CGC).

According to him, the contract for the provision of
navigational aids communication and meteorological equipment was awarded to
Avsalet Communication Limited at the cost of N1,074,629.69.

He said that the sum of N1.33 billion for the construction
of Airfield Lighting System and Power Supply was awarded to General Engineering
Company Ground Lighting Limited.
