‘Lack of Patriotism, Bane Of Nigeria’s Under-development’
The Believers Love World of Christ Embassy Church says lack
of patriotism still remains the bane of Nigeria’s underdevelopment.
The Church said this at a forum to mark Nigeria’s 52nd
Independence Anniversary.
In his lecture titled “Hon. Nigerians underdeveloped
Nigeria”.
Hon. Justice Biobele Georgewill said the present generations
of Nigerians, have jettisoned the vision of the founding fathers of Nigeria.
Hon. Justice Georgewill said what Nigeria needs at the
moment is the caliber of leadership that will harness both human and material
potentials of the nation to make her great.
He said “this is the time Nigerians must harness the virtue
of patriotism, discipline and hardwork for the sake of the nation”.
Hon. Justice Georgewill, who was the guest speaker at the
occasion, also stressed the need for vigorous campaign against corruption,
while the study of patriotism be included in school curriculum.
Also speaking, Barrister Bassy O. Bassy said the structural
defects in the foundation of the nation has given rise to ethnic tensions and
violence in the country.
Barrister Bassy continued that an aggressive policy on
education must be pursued by the three tiers of governments, while Nigerians on
their own must stand up and demand for knowledge.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to explore their ethnic
and religious differences to strengthen the unity of the nation.
Also speaking, the zone 11 Pastor of Christ Embassy, Pastor
Emeka Eze said the Rhapsody of Realities publication of the Church is doing so
much to instill patriotic spirit among Nigerians.

Church, Mrs Joy Amiekhenam said the forum was to open up great thought for
Nigerians with the view to enable them contribute to national development.
