Schools Sports Boss Urges NSC’s Support For Grassroots Dev

The President of National Schools Sports Federation, Mallam Ibrahim Muhammad, has appealed to the National Sports Commission and other relevant authorities to show support for schools sports which  remains a source of discovering talents.

Mallam Muhammad made the appeal after a visit to the minister of sports, Mallam Bolaji Ablullahi and Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Chief Patrick Ekeji.

According to him, the visit was to seek support from NSC to enhance the development of schools sports which are basic means for early talent discovery.

“It is true we went to the NSC to introduce ourselves and solicit for the minister’s support in the area of school sports development, which is the strongest base for grassroots sports development.

We also visited to show appreciation for the genuine interest in the improvement and reorganization of grassroots sports “Mallam Muhammad said.

He continued that their prayer was for both the Ministries of Education and Sports to work together for the improvement of grassroots sports development and harnessing of discovered talents.
