Paralympics: Nigeria Leads Africa’s Medals Table
Nigeria yesterday increased her medal haul at the ongoing London 2012 Paralympics Games to 11, when, Lovelin Obiji won gold in power lifting.
Obiji earned her gold with a lift of 82.5kg to increase the country’s medals to five gold, five silver and one bronze.
With the performance, Nigeria currently leads other African countries on the overall medal table.
Meanwhile, no fewer than seven African countries have continued to improved on the medals standing, winning a combined total of 40 medals after seven days of competition at the games.
The medals are made up of 11gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze medals by the seven countries led by Nigeria. Others countries include South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Nambia.
