NUEE Tasks PHCN Management On Staff Training
The Chairman, National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) Rivers/Bayelsa State Council, Comrade Temple Banigo has tasked the management of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) on the proper training of its staff.
Comrade Banigo made the appeal in an interview with newsmen at the first Zonal Gender Delegate Conference of the union held in Port Harcourt recently.
Comrade Banigo called on the management of PHCN and the national leadership of NUEE to increase the number of office accommodation to cater for the newly created chapters of the union including Yenagoa and Imiringi, stressing that it would enable staff to participate actively in union’s activities and disseminate necessary information within the PHCN working system.
He said “I appeal that concerted effort should be made to increase the number of office space as to accommodate the newly created chapters – Yenagoa, Imiringi to enable them participate in the new dispensation of leadership”.
The NUEE boss lauded the management of PHCN and leadership of the union for their unflinching support towards the re-integration of women into the mainstream of NUEE leadership. He however, regret the passing away of the immediate past Gender treasurer of the union, Comrade Boma T. Amachree.
Earlier, the President of NUEE Gender, Comrade Doris Nnaji challenged women to be active in issues affecting them and encouraged them to be involved in union activities.
She urged the National Secretariat of the union to always give women opportunity to occupy national positions within the union.
