NPL Urges Clubs To Attend Soccerex Event
Chairman of the Nigeria Premier League, Board (NPL), Chief
Victor Rumson Baribote, has directed that only Chairmen/General Managers of the
Premier League clubs would be allowed to be the league management board as
delegates to the soccerex event scheduled to hold at the Orient Hotel in Lagos,
tomorrow.
Tidesports gathered that the NPL, requested all the clubs to
forward names of their delegates who must be the Chairman or General Manager
(depending on which is applied).
This was following a fresh letter sent to all the premier
league clubs signed by Sunday Obafeki, on behalf of the Acting Executive
Secretary, Tunji Babalola.
According to the letter the clubs are expected to forward
the names to the secretariat as soon as possible to avoid further delay of the
registration of the NPL delegate to the event.
While the letter emphasised that attendance is mandatory for
all Premier League Clubs, it also reminded the clubs that the NPL would pay the
participation fees which shall be recouped during registration for the
2012/2013 league season.
However, participants shall be responsible for their
transportation and accommodation expenses.
The letter further harped on the economic viability and
sponsorship options that the succerex event offers and urged clubs to make
optimum use of the rare opportunity.
