NPL’s Topscorer Fails Trial In Tel Aviv
The current topscorer of the Nigeria Premier League, Gwar Sibi, has failed to get a contract in Israel.
The Niger Tornadoes striker had been on trial at top Israeli club, Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, after he left the Super Eagles camp in Abuja with the permission of Coach Stephen Keshi, to make the trip to Israel.
However, the former Kwara United striker has failed to impress the coach of the Israeli club who have consequently decided not to offer him a contract.
Sibi who tops the NPL’s scorers chart this season with 16 goals will now return to Minna to aid Niger Tornadoes in their battle against Jigawa stars. The Minna club play host to relegation threatened Jigawa Golden Stars on the final day of the season.
Before heading for the ill-fated trip to Israel, Gwar was also linked to clubs in Belgium, Singapore and Turkey.
