Man 30, In Court for Stealing Blackberry Phone

A, 30 years old man, Chienam Amadi has appeared before a Port Harcourt senior magistrate court for allegedly accused of stolen one Blackberry phone and a Gold chain.

The accused is standing trial on a one count charge of stealing, before senior magistrate Daisy N. Wanjoku.

The prosecuting police officer Sergent Ikosi Omanoye told the court that the accused, Chimenam Amadi on the 6th day of July, 2012 at about 0300 hrs at Omarelu street old GRA, port Harcourt in the port Harcourt district did steal one Blackberry phone valued seventy thousand (N70, 000), One Gold Chain, (N100,000) and a purse containing five thousand Naira (N5000) all together valued at one hundred and seventy five (N175,000.00) Only, property of one Sharon Attah.

The police prosecutor disclosed that the accused person commited an offence punishable under section 390 (9) cap C. 37 VOL. 11, laws of Rivers State 1999.

The accused pleaded not guilty in all the charges brought against him.

The presiding senior magistrate, Daisy N Wanjoku granted the accused N300, 000 bail with a surety who must be a civil servant on level 6 and must swore affidavit of means of living. The case was later adjourned to 25/9/2012.
