Lawmaker Hails Quality Assurance Bill

The Chairman of Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Mr. Augustine Ngo, say the bill establishing the state Education Quality Assurance, will secure the future of the State.

The Tide recalls that the Rivers State House of Assembly had recently passed the Rivers State Education Quality Assurance Agency Bill 2012.

Ngo told the source in Port Harcourt that the bill would promote effective teaching and learning in primary and privates schools in the state.

He noted that the bill would develop the right attitude in pupils, students and teachers that would enhance commitment to educational values.

The chairman said further that it would ensure the use of appropriate instructional materials in the process of teaching and learning in the schools.

He said the bill would enthrone discipline in both primary and secondary schools in the state.

Ngo added that the discipline would engender greater productivity as well as efficiency in the public schools.

The chairman stressed that the bill, when assented to by the governor, would help in sustaining acceptable standards and quality supervision in the school system.
