Kano Supports NACAN On Safety Airspace
Kano State Government says it will support every effort
geared towards the safety of Nigerian airspace.
The Kano State governor, Dr Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso stated this
at the 1st Annual General Meeting of the National Air-Traffic Communicators
Association of Nigeria (NACAN) which was held recently at Transcorps Hilton
Hotel, Abuja with the theme: Air-Traffic Communications Service As A Bridge In
Aviation Safety And Security”.
He said that his government had always played a leading role
in the Nigerian aviation industry since inception in 1925 and as the first
state where an international airport was located.
Dr Kwankwaso who was represented by the deputy governor, Dr
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje noted that the state government was conscious of the
important role played by the air-traffic communicators and had
consistently supported the body.
“Kano State has always worked closely with the aviation
authorities and we were one of the first state to send our citizens to Nigeria
College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria for training in various aviation
courses,” he said.
