Information Gathering Good For Business Growth – Consultant

Tubi, says the secret of successful business management is the ability to
organise information for planning purposes.

Tubi expressed the view at the on-going workshop organised
by the Lagos State Treasury Office in conjunction with Baileycole Consulting in
Lagos.

The four-day workshop is on “Specialised Excel Modelling and
Analysis Programmes for Financial Managers and Financial Professionals”.

He said that the programme was carefully designed to help
participants to understand how to use data electronically for decision making.

Tubi said that by the end of the programme, participants
should be able to use the knowledge gained to improve the services of their
organisations

“Excel is useful, particularly for financial numbers data,
it allows you to store it, manipulate it for particular and strategic
development purposes.

“Once you understand how to use excel, you find out that it
gives amount of information that you can manage with it.

“You can store, design different types of strategies that
require numbers,” Tubi said.

He said the programme was good for anybody who had something
to do with numbers.

“We started from high level, but we are now going wider as
we can because the more people know how to use the Excel, the better it will be
for the future of the organisation.

“The programme is going well; a lot of us now see that the
programme is not as scary.

“We are not yet where we are supposed to be in ICT in
Nigeria, but there is constant and consistent effort by the government to
improve on it,” he said.

Tubi said that ICT growth in Nigeria would depend on the
youths’ access to computer to enable them to learn, use and grow by it.

“The fervency of our youths with their visit to all kind of
places we have access to computers shows that the future of computer lies with
the youths,” he said.
