Gun Men Kill LG Secretary, Lecturer In Maiduguri
Unknown gunmen have shot dead the secretary of Bama Local Government Council (LGC) in Borno, Alhaji Mohammed Salisu, at his residence on Damboa Road in Maiduguri.
Neighbours told newsmen in Maiduguri that the deceased was killed alongside his friend Alhaji Mohammed Salihu, who was a Lecturer at the Ekiti State University.
The lecturer was believed to have visited Maiduguri for an undisclosed business, before he decided to pass the night at the residence of his long term friend, where they were both killed.
Mr Simon Mishelia, a neighbour ,said he was woken by sound of gun shots in the middle of the night.
“I heard several gun shots in the neighbourhood but nobody was sure where exactly the sound was coming from until in the morning when we all realised that Salisu had been killed.
“Infact the remains of the victims were carried to the morgue by some police officers this afternoon after we reported to them,” Mishelia said.
The Borno State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Yuguda, confirmed the story, saying that the police had commenced investigations into the matter.
