Determined to refocus Nigerian youths to the direction of
wealth creation and shake off the shackles of under development, a youth group,
the “101 Young Heroes Inspirational Tour Team”, has concluded arrangements to
visit 100 rural communities in 20 states of the federation including the
Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The body which has its offices in Enugu, Nigeria and Nairobi
Kenya, made it clear that it is also poised to change the mindset of young
Nigerians to engage in entrepreneurial ventures and positive economic activity
instead of wasting their energy on vices and other negative life style.

The pet project with the theme: “Building an Entrepreneurial
Community” is an International World Youth Forum, (IWYF), programme, in
collaboration with Environmental Global Research Initiative with support from
Entrepreneurship Education Centre, London.

Presenting the 2012 101 Young Heroes Inspirational Tour Team
Strategic Action Plan to the media in Enugu, Monday, the founder and team
leader, Mr. Stanley Ezeabasirim, said the main objective of the group was to
educate and inspire the young generation, rekindle their hope through
entrepreneurship, boost the activity in the young minds, grooming and equipping
them with abundant leadership skills.

Mr. Ezeabasirim, a UNN young graduate of German/English, literary
studies, explained that the target of the organisation was to empower at least
500,000 young Nigerians and transform them to millionaires within the first
five years of its operation.

His words: “During the tour to 20 states and Abuja scheduled
to take off on November 18, this year in Imo State, we intend to deliver a
community-fueled exploration of discovery that will probe the dept of
entrepreneurial challenges facing villages in Nigeria and come up with very
creative solutions to get young people working together to overcome them. We
will also challenge young people never to just follow their dreams, but must
chase them”.

According to him, “while we try to plant an entrepreneurial
seed in the minds of young people, show them how to improve and empower their
lives, spread a vibrant and pervasive culture of entrepreneurship throughout
the communities, we will also involve their traditional rulers, state
governors, local government chairmen as well as political representatives at
the national level to smoothen their crusade”.

The team leader further said: “After holding consultations
with the youths in their various villages, and identifying and uncovering
solutions to their pressing needs, we will seek financial support from our
international collaborators to handle very crucial projects, even as the
communities would be educated on how best to raise funds for other projects, in
five years, 2012-2017, we expect that these 500,000 youths would have become
chief executive officers of their organisations and offering jobs to many
unemployed Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, the Board of Trustees of the 101 Young
Inspirational of Heroes has approved the appointment of eight regional
directors with the task of collaborating with community leaders to facilitate
their activities at the grassroots.
