FCC Plans ICT Training For MDAs
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has concluded arrangement for training of desk officers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the use of portal solutions for effective management.
Mr David Fakeye, the Director, Monitoring and Enforcement in the commission, who made this known in an interview with newsmen recently in Abuja, said this had become critical for effective human resources management .
“The commission will before the end of the year invite all desk officers of MDAs for a two-day training on how to make proper use of portal solutions for effective and efficient submission of manpower data to the FCC,’’ Fakeye said.
He said that with the introduction of portal solution, desk officers of all MDAs would be required to log in
and forward their manpower returns as advertised for vacant positions, to the commission.
Fakeye added that the system would help in the timely resolution of issue of missing information, incorrect and distorted format and different variation in salary grade levels.
He stressed the need to improve on the data collation and collation process, adding that MDAs would be required to forward their submissions online.
The submissions through the portal solutions with its automated mechanisms for collation, processing and management of the manpower statistical data would enhance efficiency in administration .
“That is the reason this training must be important to all the desk officers of MDAs to ensure a fast and easier working system to promote an efficient submission of manpower data,’’ he said.
Fakeye warned that any MDAs which “submits false or incorrect data or refuses to submit the required data, when due’’, would be punished as prescribed under the commission’s Act.
He said that some MDAs were in the habit of submitting distorted manpower data replete with missing information.
“This is particularly in respect of states of origin and salary grade level. In some cases, this occurs in a highly alarming proportion with great tendency of obscuring real staff distribution pattern in an organisation,’’ Fakeye said.
He said the role of the commission in monitoring, enforcement and implementation of principles in manpower statistical data was an indispensable tool for achieving its objective.
