CAN Prays Against Natural Disasters ‘Morrow
In a bid to avert
natural disasters in the state and to usher in the 52nd Anniversary
celebration of Nigeria’s Independence, the Rivers State chapter of Christian
Association of Nigerian (CAN) has called for prayers to move the state to the
next level.
The Chairman of CAN in the state, Apostle Zilly Aggrey who
made the call while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, said there is a serious
need for Christians to come together and pray, so as to avert the continuation
of fire disasters and security challenges facing the state and nation.
Apostle Aggrey noted that a prayer and fasting session is
being planned to hold on Saturday September 29th, 2012 at the Royal House of
Grace, Port Harcourt where all the
Christians in the state will gather to bring down the presence of God
for the state to obtain mercy.
CAN chairman who is also the General Overseer of Royal House
of Grace said the the solemn assembly was also to usher in a one-year prayer
programme for Nigeria from October 1st, 2012 to September 30th 2013 as directed
by the nation’s spiritual leaders who were among the delegates that attended
the African prayer conference in Indonesia.
He said the one year prayer that will commence in October
1st 2013 will be preceeded by three days national repentance by all Christians,
to seek a national cleansing on October 1st for the release of God’s mercy on
the land.
Apostle Aggrey underscored the need for all Christians in
the state to join in this all-important fasting and prayers programme adding
that this is the only way the issues of security, corruption and other related
problems can be averted.
He, however, noted that Rivers State is blessed for hosting
the programmes of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the ministers
conference, stating that the state cannot host these men of God without the
blessings of God.
