Angels Ready For Super Six Play-off
Barely 48 hours after Rivers Angels FC qualified for the semi-final of the 2012 Women’s Federation Cup, the Club has restated its readiness to win the double, the federation cup and the season ending league play-off, Super Six, this season.
The team qualified alongside three others from the Calabar zone of the Federation cup group stage.
Now, the Angels will be participating in the league’s super six play off to determine 2012 league champions.
The play off is scheduled to commence from the 17th of this month at the National Stadium, Abuja.
Meanwhile, coach of the club, Whyte Ogbondah, has reassured Rivers people and fans of the Angels that there is no going back on the target to win the double this soccer season.
According to him, all necessary preparation to ensure success is already in place, and the players are all committed to achieving set target.
The club will contest the super six competition alongside Sunshine Queens of Akure, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens Nasarawa Queens and Kogi Queens of Kogi, while in the Federation cup semi final game, Rivers Angels qualified alongside Inneh Queens of Benin, Ibom Queens of Akwa Ibom and Sunshine Queens of Akure.
It would be recalled that Rivers Angels won the Federation Cup and lost the super six league play off title last season.
