18th NSF: Rivers’ll Dominate Swimming –Chioma
The Secretary of Rivers State Swimming Association, Christopher Chioma has said that the state would dominate swimming at the forthcoming 18th National Sports Festival (NSF) in Lagos come November this year.
He stated that the association was in camp with 35 swimmers and that the best 16 would make the final list for the festival.
Chioma made the assertion in an exclusive interview with Tidesports yesterday in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the swimmers are currently on intensive training to ensure that they win all available, medals in the swimming event at the NSF.
“We are putting in our best to ensure that we maintain the overall winners’ status in swimming as we did in Port Harcourt.
“We will not leave any stone unturned, that is why we are going to select the best 16 persons that would make the state proud”, Chioma said.
“We are going to defend our title in Lagos.
I am appealing to the relevant authorities to support all the associations in terms of training and funds”, he added.
