The International President of National Evangelism Christian
Outreach (NECO), Rev. Benneth Okafor, has called on Christian preachers to
dwell more on the subject of their faith than on prosperity.

Speaking at the graduation of the National Evangelism
Training School (NETS), Enugu, last Saturday, Okafor said that preaching should
be based on salvation through Jesus Christ rather than on earthly materials.

“It is Christ-like living that will take you to heaven and
not prosperity. Christ wants to feel a real measure in you.

“The real calling of the saints is that you become a
disciple. God is calling us to become the disciples, the students of Jesus
Christ,’’ he said.

Speaking on the theme: “Making Disciples of allNations’’, Okafor,
who is also the international coordinator of the school, called on the
graduands to remain focused in their future endeavours.

He advised them to shun earthly materials in line with the
biblical injunction to seek salvation first and get other things in addition.

Earlier, the Enugu State Coordinator of NECO, Pastor Dan
Onuoha, said that of the 72 students who registered for the one-year programme
last year, only 55 proved themselves worthy in character and learning to
graduate from the institution.

Onuoha said that the school was the training arm of NECO
with the vision to capture the world for Christ.

“NETS is not a theological seminary, rather it is an
institution that teaches, trains and equips believers of all denominations with
the necessary skills and tools to enable them to win souls and disciple new
ones.

“The curriculum is designed to lay a foundation of spiritual
and personal development, biblical knowledge, moral integrity, cross-cultural
and foreign missions, and above all, skills for effective personal
evangelism,’’ he said.
