Yak Continues Scoring Form In China
Yakubu Aiyegbeni continued a dream start to his Chinese
adventure with a fifth goal in 7 games.
The Nigeria hitman took just five minutes to restore parity
for Guangzhou R&F after visiting Shandong FC shot into the lead at the
Yuexiushan Stadium on Sunday.
Wang Yongpo stunned the home side when he found the net just
two minutes after kick-off, but Yak was to ensure that Shandong’s celebration
did not last very long.
Fired up by his goal, Guanzhou roared back with further
goals from Rafael Coelho, who claimed a brace. Zhang Yuan scored an own goal in
the 45th minute to make it 4-1 and Paraguayan import José María Ortigoza added
respectability as it finished as comfortable 4-2 win for Yak and co.
Sunday’s victory takes Guangzhou to 8th position with 21
points in the 16-team league currently led by Guangzhou Evergrande with 46
points from 22 matches.
