Work Resumes Today, After Sallah Holidays

Work resumes across the country today after the two-day
public holiday declared by the Federal Government to enable Muslims observe the
Eid el-Fitr celebrations, which ended one month of Ramadan fasting.

At the various motor parks and jetties in Port Harcourt
yesterday evening, residents who had travelled to the hinterlands and other
neighbouring states to observe the holidays, were seen returning to enable them
resume their normal business activities and official work today.

The ever-busy Port Harcourt roads, which were mostly scanty
as a result of the holidays, began witnessing heavy human and vehicular traffic
just as most Muslims took some time off to visit loved ones and some of the few
recreation centres in Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Muslims
across the nation have been receiving goodwill messages from both political and
religious leaders.

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the President, Christian Association
of Nigeria (CAN), urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr
celebration to pray for love, peace, unity and progress of the nation.
