…To Provide Computers In Model Primary Schools
The Rivers State Government says it is now set to equip
pupils in the model primary schools with more hand-held personal computers to
improve quality of education in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Richard
Ofuru, stated this during the bid opening session for companies that expressed
interest in the supply of personal computers in Port Harcourt, Thursday.
Dr. Ofuru explained
that nine companies collected the bidding materials for the supply of the
personal computers, noting that eight returned the bidding materials.
According to him, eight of them were present at the bid
opening session and each of the bidders would be given fair chance of winning.
He said that the selecting of the winning company would be
based not only on the quoted prices but also on the companies’ expertise in
complying with the approved technicalities and specifications of the expected
products.
He disclosed that the organizations which bidded for the
supply of the personal computers were Strategy and Execution Limited, Sunnet ystems and Data Com Services Limited,
Intellistern Nigeria Ltd, Systemstech Services, Evans Brothers Nigeria,
Publishers Ltd, Zero and One Technologies Ltd,
JKK One Ware Ltd and Business
Computers Information Sytems (BCIS) Ltd.
Reiterating the integrity of the Ministry in awarding the
contract to the appropriate winner, the Permanent Secretary said that the
winner could emerge after the project department has done the analysis of the
companies’ bids stating that the ministry would then “bundle the materials to
