Sunshine Stars Hopeful On Continental Trophy

The Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars of Akure, Gbenga
Ogunbote, has said that the club’s hopes of winning a continental trophy was
still alive.

Ogunbote told newsmen in an interview that so far, they had
played four matches, losing one, drawing one and winning two.

According to him, they lost 0-2 at home to Esperance of
Tunisia, drew goalless with Etoile Du Sahel in Tunis and defeated Aso Chief 2-0
and 2-1 at home and away.

Ogunbote said the club would continue to work hard in the
Nigerian Premier League (NPL) while also striving to keep the country’s flag
flying at the continental level.

He said that their next match would be on September 2,
against Esperance of Tunisia in Tunis, adding that it had been difficult
playing in both the CAF Champions and the premier league.

He urged Nigerians to continue to support the club to enable
it go far in both competitions.
