State Of Abuja Turf Worries Keshi
Nigeria coach, Stephen Keshi has again expressed his unhappiness at the state of the playing surface of the Abuja National Stadium.
Keshi and his squad returned to training on Monday, but the coach was forced to move his first training session to the artificial turf of the Fifa Goal Project after assessing the condition of the national stadium pitch.
The squad are preparing for a friendly match against Niger on August 15.
The game, which will serve as a tune-up for the final round African Nations Cup qualifier against Liberia in September, will be played on natural grass turf.
Last Sunday, Keshi called up Crown FC’s Femi Ajani as replacement for injured Heartland winger Obinna Nwahukwu.
The forward joined the rest of the squad in training on Monday.
