Rivers Cyclists In Training For National Tourney
Team Rivers cyclists are under-going intensive training in
preparation for the forthcoming National Open Cycling competition coming up
next month in Lagos State.
Rivers State Cycling Coach, Emma Adesinya while speaking in
an interview yesterday, said that the competition which is expected to be a
two-day event is being organised by the Nigeria Cycling Federation (NCF).
According to him, the aim of the competition is to further
prepare and test the performance and standard of the athletes.
Meanwhile, the competition is for both male and female
cyclists across the federation.
The Rivers State Cycling Coach stated that the tournament
would boost the morale of the athletes, as well as prepare them ahead of the
hurdles expected from forthcoming National Sports Festival in November.
He further commended the athletes for the commitment and
discipline so far, before and during camping, saying that, with such spirit,
they would definitely excel in any engagement.
Coach Adesanya advised the cyclists to sustain their current
form, hardwork, determination and commitment to their career.
