Police Arraign Man For Allegedly Stripping Woman

A 28-year-old man, who allegedly stripped a woman naked in
public, was last Tuesday brought before an Ojokoro Senior Magistrates’ Court,
Lagos.

The accused, Kassim Yusuf, who lives at No. 28, Akande St.,
Toyin Bus-Stop, Iju-Ishaga in the metropolis, was arraigned on a charge of assault.

He, however, pleaded innocence of the offence.

The prosecutor, Insp. Chris Takim insisted that the accused
committed the offence on August 13 at No.4, Esan Stree, Oke-Ayo, Iju-Ishaga at
6.00 p.m.

According to him, the accused beat and stripped one Salamotu
Olubiyi in the public following a quarrel.

He said the offence contravened Section 170 of the Criminal
Code, Laws of Lagos State.

In his ruling, Magistrate K.O. Ogundare granted the accused
bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned to Oct. 29.
