PASAN Games: Rivers House Of Assembly Rewards Athletes

Rivers State House of Assembly has rewarded its athletes
that participated at the recently concluded parliamentary Staff Association of
Nigeria (PASAN) Games in Ogun State.

The athletes, who brought home 30 medals from the games were
rewarded with cash prizes ranging from N100,000 for gold medallists, to N50,000
and N30,000 for Silver and Bronze medallists respectively.

The clerk of the State House of Assembly, Sir Emma Ogele
made known the cash reward while receiving the athletes officially, at the
assembly auditorium, recently.

According to him, the token given to the athletes was just a
small way to motivate them to improve on their performance next edition,.

“We, in the Assembly are very happy with the performance of
our staff.

We will appreciate and honour them so that they can perform
well better in the next edition which we are bidding to host next year,” Sir
Ogele said.

He noted that the state PASAN athletes were brave,
determined and committed to their sporting activities.

The scribe of the House used the forum to advice workers in
the assembly to take their primary duties seriously.

It would be recalled that Rivers State emerged winners of
the PASAN games  held in Ogun State,
recently.
