NPL’s 2011/12 Season Ends September 7
The Nigeria Premier League (NPL), has said that the
2011/2012 league season would end on September7 this year.
The media officer of NPL, Emma Njoku made this known at the
weekend on a radio programme monitored in Port Harcourt.
According to him, all last matches of the season, that is
the Week 38 would be played on September 7 to bring the current season to an
end.
The media officer said that all the outstanding rescheduled
matches had been slated to hold this weekend.
“Arrangements have been made that the remaining league
matches would be played next week to leave us with the only final weekend matches,”
Njoku said
He continued that the remaining matches include, Warri
Wolves versus Rrising Stars; ABS FC versus Sunssine Stars and Sharks versus
Ocean Boys.
The NPL spokesman further revealed that the Week 38 matches
would take place on Friday as to enable its broadcast partners Supersport
Television play active role in the end of season games.
“We want to play the matches on Friday, because we want
Supersport to beam the star match live as will as the presentation of trophy to
the league champions,” he stated.
Njoku explained that Supersport usually keep Saturdays for
European leagues on their channels.
“We just have to move ours to Friday, so that we can get
more of the required audience,” he said.
