Leave Sharks Coach Alone, Supporter Warns Detractors
An ardent supporter of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, Inengite
Edward has warned those he described as detractors of the club, who would want
the rot in the club to continue unabated to leave the club alone to progress.
Edward was reacting in an interview to a recent publication
in one of the national sports newspapers questioning the recent appointment of
interim coach, Dabo-Ere Dokubo.
According to him, the obviously sponsored article that
referred to apparently dead issue concerning an alleged match fixing in which
some referees, club sides and coaches were said to be involved last season
tried to impugn coach Dokubo was wide off mark.
The Sharks supporter wondered why the author and his
sponsors did not raise any eye brow with the knowledge that the clubs, other
coaches and referees so mentioned in the alleged match fixing have been doing
their business in the Nigeria Football Federation and Nigeria Premier League
board organised competition without any questions from the authorities.
This, he believed was because the allegation lacked proof
and had been dismissed by the NFF’s Appeals Committee where the persons
erroneously indicted sought justice.
Edward therefore, warned mischief makers to allow Sharks FC
and its new crew to move, and advised the club’s sponsors, management, new
coach and fans not to be distracted by the antics of disgruntled elements.
He further described coach Dokubo as a versatile and proven
professional referee, sports administrator with the potential to take Sharks FC
to the next level if given proper support and motivation.
