Late Mrs Bomari Laid To Rest
The remains of late Mrs Edwin Bomari, the wife of the former
Rivers State Head of Service, Mr Edwin
Bomari, have been laid to rest at her home town Nembe Bassambri in the Nembe
Local Government area of Bayelsa State.
The deceased was first taken to Abonnema headquarters of
Akuku-Toru local government area, a brief lying in state before being moved to
Nembe for burial.
Speaking during the funeral service at the First Baptist
Church Nembe, Rev Sunday Onasanya described death as appointment for mankind on earth.
The clergyman who spoke on the topic : “Prepare for Battle”
noted that the best a man can do is to seek for Christ with his whole might.
Rev. Onasanya, who regretted that the deceased died at a
time when her motherly advice was most needed, however urged the family to take
consolation in the fact that their mother lived a fulfilled life.
Also speaking with newsmen the Amanyanabo of Nembe
Bassambri, King Ralph Iwowori, who was a relation to the deceased, described
the death as a big blow to the family and the entire community.
“I m very sad for what has happened. She has been a pillar
in the family and I missed her so much for what has happened. “I’m really
pained” the King said.
Also speaking, the husband of the deceased, Mr Edwin Bomari
described the death of his wife as a big blow, describing the deceased had
lived a life of fulfillment.
Mr. Bomari, who was the former head of service Rivers State,
thanked the Rivers State Government through the state Ministry of Health for
its support.
He also thanked civil servants in the state for their
support.
Also speaking, the first son of the deceased Engineer Abibo
Bomari, said that his mother died at a time when his motherly advice was
needed.
Engr. Bomari, however, noted that the children will sustain
the legacy left behind by their late mother.
Later on in an interview with newsmen the chairman of the
burial committee, Mr. Deinbo Allen Briggs described the ceremony as a big
success.
He thanked the Nembe community and the Joint Task Force
(JTF) for their support.
