Jonathan Reassures On Power Supply
President Goodluck Jonathan, has re-stated his administration’s determination to improve the power supply before the end of 2012.
The President gave the assurance during a meeting with members of the Nigerian community in Trinidad and Tobago.
“ There will be a significant improvement in the power sector before the end of 2012,’ he said.’
The President also promised Nigerians of his government’s resolve to fight corruption.
The President arrived in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, on Tuesday on a two-day official visit.
The visit, is his first to the country, and would afford him the opportunity to attend the 2012 Emancipation Day celebration.
The President, in company of his wife and other top government officials, was received at the Piarco International airport by Trinidad And Tobago President Mr George Richards, his wife the Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and members of cabinet.
The President is expected to participate in the emancipation festivities, as well as pay a courtesy call on President Richards and Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar where they would hold bilateral talks.
Jonathan promised to harmonise issues of direct air link to Port of Spain, immigration problems and the socio-cultural relationship with the Trinidad and Tobago.
The president is expected to proceed to Jamaica to attend celebration of the 50th independence anniversary of the country.
