The management of Enyimba FC of Aba has said that the
protest they filed and won over their attack by fans of Warri Wolves was good
for football development.

Enyimba had protested the violent attack by the fans of
Warri Wolves in the Week 30 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) game played at the
Warri Township Stadium on June 2.

Enyimba’s head of media, Farriel Allaputa said that the
players and officials of the club were attacked and their property damaged by
the fans of Warri Wolves.

Allaputa told newsmen in Aba, that it was a “victory for the
development of football in the country.

“It will serve as a deterrent for others and also a morale
booster for our quest for a continental ticket next season,’’ he said.

Enyimba is now fourth on the league table with 58 points,
including the three points and three goals awarded to them recently by the
Nigerian Football Association (NFA) for winning the protest.
