The Deputy Director of Islamic Affairs at the 82 Division of
the Nigeria Army, Enugu, Col. Shehu Mustapha, has called on Muslims to always
pray for peaceful co-existence in the country.

Speaking with newsmen at the end of Eid prayers at the 82
Division grounds recently, Mustapha said continuous prayers were the only means
to return peace to the country.

He said that prayer was the only tool that could serve as an
avenue for peaceful co-existence among the various ethnic groups in the
country.

The deputy director called on the Muslim community to
continue with the act of righteousness which they abided by during the Ramadan.

“That the Ramadan has ended does not mean the act of
righteousness should stop.

“Demonstrating righteousness is the only means that can show
we are true faithful,’’ he said.

Mustapha called on the faithful to always assist the less
privileged among them by providing food and drinks for them.

He called on those that repented during the Ramadan not to
slide back to sins, and urged them to always put the lesson they learned during
the period in practice.
