Commissioner Harps On Praises To God
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and
Communications, Mrs. Ibim Sementari has stressed the need for Christians to
give more attention to praises and worship in their respective churches.
The commissioner who was speaking during the pre-harvest
musical concert of St Nicholas Anglican Church, Woji, Diocese of Evo, said that
praise and worship are the very foundation of Christianity.
According to her, God is moved when these children give him
praise and worship.
The vicar in-charge of Woji Archdeaconry, Venerable Alex
Usifoh said that the church intends to make the programme an annual event.
Venerable Usifoh said that the event was intended to bring
down the glory of God on the church.
His words: “When praises go up, the Lord brings blessings
down”, contending that it is praise that moves the Lord to release His
blessings on the church.
The clergyman also stressed the need for Christians to
imbibe the culture of giving praises to Almighty God always, pointing out that,
by so doing, they will be attracting His blessing upon the earth.
Also speaking, Rev Chukwuma Anukem of New Covenant Church
Eliminigwe Parish, Elelenwo said that situation would be introduced into his
parish church.
The only lesson for the service wi th the theme: “I saw the
Lord” was taken from the Bible book of Isaiah 6:1, some of the group which
participated in the service includes; the Royal male choir, Aphibu and Opobo
philantropic choir, Ibiso Edward and worship dancers.
