Church Trains Youth On Oil And Gas
As Part of efforts towards empowering the Niger Delta youth
with the necessary skills to fit in the oil and gas industry the Omega Power
Ministry (OPM) Foundation, has commissioned a free training programme in Oil
and Gas-related courses.
The courses include Barges and Tugboat construction,
scaffolding pipeline welding and instrumentation, Air condition and
Refrigerator.
The rest are Generator Mechanic, Tailoring, Maine Services,
Software development engineering and computer training.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony in Port Harcourt,
the General Overseer of the Ministry, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said that the
vision is to create a pool of manpower in the region to tackle the challenges
of under development.
Apostle Chinyere also said that the essence is to create
gainful employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed in the region and
the entire country.
He noted that the programme will not only check restiveness
among the youth will also create opportunities for the youths to positively
contribute to the development of the society.
The General Overseer said that the foundation will also
empower the trainees with tools to start up at the end of the programme.
He also said that the church intends to award scholarship to
children of poor parents from September this year and stressed the need for men
of God in the country to evolve
programmes that will improve the lot of their members.
According to him, church money must be used to build the
people and the church, contending that most men of God who squander church
money on frivolities are not doing the right thing.
Apostle Chinyere said that OPM will continue to initiate
programmes that will check poverty in the society and commended members of the
church for making the training possible.

Limited, Mr Cletus T. Odih said that the foundation has set a standard that
must be emulated by other groups in the country.
He said that the to trainees involved in barges and tugboat
building will be assisted at the end of the programme.
