Bi-Courtney Moves To Enhance Power Supply At MMIA2
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL) has announced
plans for a multi-billion Naira power upgrade and alternative electricity
source for the new domestic terminal of Murtala Mohammed International Airport,
also known as MMIA2.
The first phase of the project which will commence this
month will involve the provision of alternative power supply to the Power
Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
The spokesman of the company, Steve Omolale-Ajula said the
completion of the first phase was expected to bring added advantage to the
terminal as it would provide uninterrupted power supply to the facility.
According to him, the project became necessary,
uninterrupted power supply which is one of the best qualities MMIA2 is known
for since it began operation five years ago. It is also our desire that airline
operation is undisturbed and airport concession areas and users have a
comfortable place to operate from.
“Having been used to uninterrupted power supply in the last
five years, we cannot offer users of MMAA2 anything less. The project is one of
the measures we have put in place to ensure that the terminal remains the
flagship of airport terminals in Nigeria with the best of round the clock and
well – maintained facilities”, he said.
He explained that all necessary measures had been put in place
throughout the duration of the project to minimise discomfort to all users of
the terminal and other buildings within the premises, adding that “BASL is
counting on the understanding and support of all users of MMAA2 as we embark on
this all-important project”.
